Nursing Procedures
Course Description
Nursing Procedures is a 5-day training course that focuses on the following skills: blood transfusion, central venous access device (CVAD) management, urinary catheter insertion, wound care, ostomy care and tracheostomy/oral/endotracheal suctioning. Clinical skills will be performed and demonstrated on a life size mannequin under the supervision of highly qualified instructors.
At the completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand the various nursing skills and their significance in clinical practice 
- Correctly identify and manage complications related to nursing procedures and clinical conditions 
 Safely perform the following nursing skills using proper techniques:
- CVAD care 
- Nasogastric tube insertion and care 
- Urinary catheter insertion and care 
- Suctioning (tracheostomy, oral and endotracheal) 
- Ostomy care 
- Wound care
